On December 17th, 2017, the Tulsa World reported that 7000 rape untested kits were found at the State of Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation (OSBI). Since there hasn't been any convictions, and grant money has been awarded to the state to test the kits at the OSBI laboratory. The Sexual Assault Kit Assistance Grant (SAKAG) is a $2.5 million compliment to the already $200+ million Byrne Justice Assistance Grant (BJAG) given to Oklahoma for being a high crime threat to Homeland Security. To get BJAG, high crime statistics are necessary. The rape statistics are crime statistics. They are unreasonably high. Some news channels have reported the truth along with the government's "quick fixes" to the problem. Fox 25 is the only local news channel that has downplayed the importance of this issue.
